About Us
The Owners
We’re very lucky to work with such charismatic owners who are genuinely passionate about their properties, these are far more than future nest eggs.
Clare and Eric have been enjoying Upper Saltings for 25 years and Old Saltings for 4 years, with heaps of family memories created for three generations of their family.
In 2015 they took the hard decision to part with 22 Piazza but new owners Sue and David carry their own passion for all things St Ives as they themselves have spent many years visiting Porthmeor and are well known in the area.
The combined love of art work, the town and of course Porthmeor brings this portfolio together.
Saltings on Porthmeor
We’re a small tight knit team who work very closely with owners to provide a bespoke service and the personal touch for guests. Sam formed this little project in 2014, we’re not concerned with building a huge portfolio of properties, for us it’s about hitting the perfect balance of happy owners and happy guests, if we achieve that we’ll be a success.
We see ourselves as the guardians of the properties, retaining the personality that Clare has been working on for 25 years. You can still expect to hear from the owners every now and then, they’re just as interested in hearing about your holiday as they are about the numbers, think of it as a partnership rather than an agency.
The Properties
Each of the three is individual yet they all carry similar traits, quite possibly as a result of their history. They’re easy spaces to relax in, great artworks don the walls and each and every place you look you’ll spot something you hadn’t seen before.
Yet functionality has always been at the core, so good quality appliances, well designed kitchens and simple things like a shower to wash sandy feet outside Old Saltings make this a holiday for everyone, not just the kids.
“We arrived to a spectacular sunset, & enjoyed champagne by the huge picture window with views of beach, sea & glowing sky – a great start to the holiday.”
“We especially loved the massive open plan living area, we saw far more of the kids this week than usual! The beds were very comfy, the showers powerful, the kitchen well-equipped. So easy to run round the corner to the beach & back for a hot shower. Great bread each morning from the grocery on the corner.
Fantastic restaurants – our favourite evening meal was at The Tearoom. You can walk everywhere easily, good shops & pubs, also had a night out at the theatre. All round successful holiday, hope to be back.” Upper Saltings, September 2015.
